Ceremony Coffee was founded in 2002 as part of the so-called "third wave" of American coffee culture, with an emphasis on ethically sourced beans, local and artisanal roasting, and a celebration of the diversity of coffee flavors. Since then, Ceremony has expanded steadily, with nearly ten locations now across the DMV. The newest one is in historic Federal Hill at the Cross Street Market, not far from The Berkleigh.
With cascades of natural light pouring in through huge windows, this location is an attractive option for a casual date, lunch meeting, or solo study session. The menu is extensive, with a seasonally rotating selection of coffee, tea, and fresh-pressed juices, not to mention a small but mighty food menu featuring breakfast staples like overnight oats and lunch options like a smoked ham and cheese panini. Have a sweet tooth? Try one of Ceremony’s popular coffee milkshakes before the weather turns too cold.
